Chopin's 24 Préludes, unlike those of Bach, do not precede either fugue or sung chorale. The term underlines the modesty of these short, simply shaped pieces. But these pieces prelude each other, since they form a carefully ordered whole, according to the cycle of fifths, to sweep through the twenty-four major and minor keys. After his brilliant recording of the Balades and Scherzi, Abdel Rahman El Bacha continues his virtuoso interpretation of Chopin's work with these Préludes.
