Get to Know Us

Forever a Music Store (FAMS) is a collective of independently black owned record stores throughout the country. FAMS was founded in 2021 by D. Tobago Benito. FAMS was created in order to shed light on black owned indie retail music stores and to celebrate their contribution to the music industry while also servicing our communities.

D. Tobago Benito

Founder

D. Tobago Benito is the owner and founder of FAMS. He also owns the retail music store DBS Sounds located in Riverdale, GA. He has been a long standing pillar of this music industry for over 25+ years. In addition to FAMS and DBS Sounds, he also does consulting, artist management and much more.

Solina "Nina" Smith

Liason

Solina �Nina� Smith was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Her work career began at the age of 16 working in a local independent music store on the weekends. In 14 years she went from part time employee to store owner. She comes with over 35 years of sales & marketing and experience. She has become known for mixing unique marketing ideas with strategic and successful strategies creating mind blowing results. Her work is not always easily reviewed on paper due to her behind the scenes strategies on many successful marketing and sales campaigns. She has worked with numerous musical artists, visual artists, authors, small businesses and non-profits. She loves music and has a heart for small (independent) businesses. She can often be found serving her community, supporting local businesses, and spending time with family & friends.
