The title references both the French city where it was recorded and the Ramones' 1978 album, Road to Ruin. It features the singles, "Low C," "Fin," and fan-favorite, "St. Petersburg," a captivating and beautiful track with a hint of John Lennon's influence. Arguably their most personal album, it represented a departure from the band's signature upbeat sound. This new, mellow, and introspective direction made the entire album a critical success.
