I Never Learn is considered to be the third and final part of a trilogy of albums that began with Swedish indie pop singer Lykke Li's 2008 debut, Youth Novels. In 2014 she starred in the Scandinavian crime film Tommy, and then used her acting talents to shoot her poignant video for the single "Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone." The record was produced by long-term collaborator Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John) and Greg Kurstin, who both helped steer Lykke's matured, atmospheric direction.
