Following their participation on previous album ''After the Storm'' (2003), the singer re-teamed with producers and rappers Jermaine Dupri and Missy Elliott to work on the majority of the album, with additional production resulting from collaborations with Bryan Michael Cox, The Underdogs, Tank, Harold Lilly, Swizz Beatz, Sean Garrett, and others.
The album garnered a mostly positive reception from music critics, and produced four singles of which all failed to chart or sell noticeably. It reached the top of U.S. ''Billboards Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and number eight on the ''Billboard'' 200, selling 328,000 copies in total domestically to date.
